    • What's New at MSPCOA

Application materials will be delivered to newly promoted command officers. ANY existing COA member can also share this information with prospective members, available in "Member Resources". Please direct any inquiries regarding membership in the COA through "Contact Us".

COA members in good standing are now enrolled in the Legal Defense Fund of the Peace Officers Research Association of California known as PORAC. This provides additional protection for our members if they require legal representation. It is the same LDF that our MSPTA participates in and is provided as an additional benefit through membership dues. Additional information is available in the Action Center.

From our inception in 1972 through present day, the MSPCOA strives to provide high value representation for all of our members. We advocate for compensation, benefits, and the overall working conditions for the command officers of the Michigan State Police.

We are the ONLY labor organization recognized by the Michigan Civil Service Commission and the Department of State Police as the representative of MSP command officers.

We actively support our MSP retirees and assist many of our department members and their families in significant times of need. We also sponsor several events throughout the year. Additional information is included in "COA Contributions".

If you are a MSP command officer and not currently a member, I would encourage you to consider joining our association. Your dues also include membership in the National Troopers Coalition and PORAC. If you would like additional information or have questions regarding membership, please contact your division or district representative, any of our officers, or send your inquiry through "Contact Us".

      Rob Hackerd

NOTE: THE MSPCOA IS NEVER INVOLVED IN DIRECT SOLICITATION OF ANY FINANCIAL DONATIONS BY MAIL, BY PHONE, OR IN PERSON.
