What's New at MSPCOA COA members in good standing are now enrolled in the Legal Defense Fund of the Peace Officers Research Association of California known as PORAC. This provides additional protection for our members if they require legal representation. It is the same LDF that our MSPTA participates in and is provided as an additional benefit through membership dues. Additional information is available in the Action Center.
ALL enlisted MSP retirees have been consolidated into one organization with all memberships being managed by the MSPTA Retirees Association. A focus of consolidating the retirees is to provide consistent information to ALL of our enlisted MSP retiree group. Please see "RETIREES" from this page for additional information on joining the association or renewing membership.
Welcome to the website of the Michigan State Police Command Officers Association. From our inception through present day, we strive to provide high value representation for all of our members. We advocate for compensation, benefits, and the overall working conditions for the command officers of the MSP.
We are the only labor organization recognized by the Michigan Civil Service Commission and the Department of State Police as the representative of MSP command officers. Additionally, we stand firm with associates of the Michigan State Police Troopers Association and Michigan Association of Police Organizations in issues that impact all law enforcement officers throughout the state of Michigan.
We actively support our MSP retirees and assist many of our department members and their families in significant times of need. We also collectively help sponsor several events throughout the year, including using our "Action Center" when needed for promotion and information sharing. To our current members, thank-you. It is our membership that continues to allow for this support and assistance that we provide to be possible. Some areas of interest are included on this page in "Contributions".
If you are a MSP command officer and not currently a member, I would encourage you to consider joining our association. If you would like additional information or have questions regarding membership, please contact your division or district representative, any of our officers, or send your inquiry to the MSPCOA email address provided in contact information.
